“Ports, Customs and Free Zone” celebrates Union Day onboard the Queen Elizabeth 2 Ship

The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) celebrated the 52nd UAE Union Day, on board the Queen Elizabeth II (QE2), in the presence of H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, CEO of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Director-General of Dubai Customs, and H.E. Abdullah Belhoul, CEO of the Department of Planning and Development - Trakhees and H.E. Mahmoud Amin, CEO of the Marine Agency for Wooden Dhows, and Saeed Al-Bannai, Executive Director of Investment Department, and a large number of managers, employees and customers.
In a distinguished festive atmosphere, H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih extended his sincere congratulations and blessings to H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and to their brothers, their Highnesses, members of the UAE’s Federal National Council, and the crown princes, and to the people of the UAE and residents on its land, on the occasion of the 52nd Union Day.
Musabih noted in his speech at the opening of the ceremony: “Today we celebrate the fifty-two years of transforming the dream of the union into a reality laid down by the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and their brothers, the founding fathers. Five decades of successive achievements in various economic, commercial and social sectors, and the blessed march of the Union has placed the UAE in an exceptional and pioneering position among the countries of the world which has consolidated its position as a global center for trade and economy”.
His Excellency praised the role of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and its affiliated business units in achieving clear imprints on the Union’s journey and making great achievements in various fields, calling all the PCFC employees to “continue progress with steady and distinguished steps to achieve the ambitions of our leadership, the goals of our government, and the hopes of our people”.
His Excellency stressed that the “Spirit of the Union” is the force that drives every citizen and resident on this good land to make every effort to keep the flag of the UAE always flying high, in fulfillment of the spirits of the builders of the Union and in fulfillment of the vision and directives of the wise leadership.
The official celebrations of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation on Union Day included various programs that began with the national anthem and the Holy Qur’an, in addition to the screening of the film “Dubai Journey” and artistic segments between poetry and singing, in addition to the heritage village that included a museum of ancient Emirati crafts, and popular coffee with live popular performances and many other activities.
